Heathrow shuts runways after plane catches fire

Britain's Heathrow airport has closed both its runways after a fire aboard an Ethiopian Airlines plane.

A Heathrow spokeswoman said fire services were attending the incident but could not provide any more details.

News reports have since confirmed that the aircraft was a Boeing 787 Dreamliner jet.

There were no passengers aboard the plane.

The new, lightweight Dreamliner jet suffered a series of battery fires earlier this year, leading the plane to be grounded for several weeks until Boeing came up with a satisfactory fix.
