French ministers have held an emergency meeting to discuss the terror attacks in Paris over the past three days.

17 people lost their lives in the attacks which began last Wednesday when 12 people were murdered at the offices of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Tomorrow up to one million people are expected to take to the streets of Paris to attend a a National Unity Rally along with European and world leaders, including Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

Meanwhile French police forces remain on high alert as they hunt for any accomplices of the gunmen behind the terror attacks.

26-year-old Hayat Boumeddiene, the partner of Paris kosher supermarket gunman Amedy Coulibaly, remains on the run and is said to be armed and dangerous.

More details have emerged about the security operations that ended two separate sieges in and around Paris yesterday.

Police first stormed a warehouse north of the capital, killing two brothers, Said and Cherif Kouachi, suspected of carrying out the attack of Charlie Hebdo HQ on Wednesday in which 12 people died.

Shortly afterwards officers raided a kosher supermarket at Porte de Vincennes in eastern Paris, where gunman Amedy Coulibaly had taken several people hostage- four of whom were found dead.

Coulibaly was killed by police.

Today the French defence ministry announced 500 extra military soldiers are to be deployed to the greater Paris region.

"We will this morning announce a reinforcement of 500 additional military personnel, in two waves in Ile de France," said the ministry, referring to Paris and the immediate surrounding areas.

Earlier this morning a line of police men could be seen outside the offices of French daily newspaper Liberation, as the remaining members of the Charlie Hebdo editorial staff arrived for a meeting.

Meanwhile tributes continue around the world for the victims of the French terror attacks.

In Dublin hundreds of people including Tánaiste Joan Burton, Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald Minister, Minister for Communications Alex White, Garda Commissioner Noirín O'Sullivan and Lord Mayor of Dublin Christy Burke attended a ceremony in Dublin Castle to remember those killed in Paris this week.

French Ambassador to Ireland Jean-Pierre Thébault told the gathering that the terrorists in Paris had tried to kill freedom but the French and Irish peoples would defend their shared values.
