Tens of thousands are marching through Dublin city centre in a protest against water charges.
Organisers have estimated that up to 100,000 people are taking part.
It is understood gardaí estimate the attendance at up to 30,000.
Protesters assembled at Parnell Square before marching down O'Connell Street towards Dáil Éireann on Kildare Street.
They will then return to O'Connell Street for speeches outside the GPO.
At that point, gardaí will close O'Connell Street northbound, traffic on the north quays will be diverted on to Eden Quay or across O'Connell Bridge.
Luas Red Line services are running at the moment from Tallaght/Saggart to Smithfield only. There is no service between Smithfeild and The Point/Connolly.
Luas Green Line is operating normally.
O'Connell Street will only re-open when the demonstration has finished.
Meanwhile Tánaiste Joan Burton this afternoon was asked about water charges relief, she said people who get their household benefits package in their social welfare payments on a quarterly basis will also receive the €25 relief payment.
Ms Burton said she also hopes Irish Water will provide an easy pay option for older people.
She said her officials have been discussing that with Irish Water because she wants to make it easy for people to comply.
