The High Court has adjourned legal proceedings between Greyhound Waste Recycling and SIPTU for another week.
The adjournment is to allow for further talks aimed at resolving the 14-week dispute at the company.
Counsel for the company Louis McEntagart said the two sides had agreed to seek the adjournment to allow "already well advanced negotiations" to continue.
He told the court that the parties were hopeful that the talks would produce a full and acceptable resolution to the dispute.
Mr McEntagart said both sides would continue to work equally hard to overcome the remaining issues.
The parties will be back in the High Court on Tuesday 23 September.
Last week, Greyhound warned that all 400 jobs at the company could be in jeopardy due to the dispute, which broke out in mid-June when the company sought to cut the pay of 78 bin collectors by over a third.
Since then, the company has been using lower paid agency workers to staff waste trucks and carry out collections.
However, the company alleged there had been an illegal blockade of its premises in Clondalkin, which had hit bin collections around Dublin city.
It went to the High Court on Tuesday seeking enforcement of orders, which had previously been granted by the court, to prevent illegal activity on the picket line.
There were angry scenes as strikers and their supporters traded insults with a group of non-striking workers who fear the dispute could cost them their jobs.
The legal proceedings were adjourned for a week until today to facilitate intensive talks.
While the picket has continued, the picketers have ceased the blockade of trucks, so bin collections for Greyhound customers have resumed.
So far, the dispute has cost SIPTU over €250,000 in strike pay for the 78 workers.
