Monday 18 August 2014 13.31 A man has died in hospital after sustaining multiple stab wounds in an attack in Dublin city centre.
The stabbing happened on the North Strand Road just before 11pm yesterday.
The Dublin Fire Service said the man received multiple stab wounds to the front and back of his body.
The 45-year-old man was taken to the Mater Hospital but died there this morning.
Investigating gardaí have appealed to witnesses to contact them at Mountjoy Garda Station on 01-666-8600, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666-111 or any garda station.
