Sunday 06 April 2014 16.24 A 39-year-old man is in a critical condition in a Dublin hospital after an assault in the city in the early hours of this morning.
The incident took place at an apartment in Kelly's Row, off Dorset Street, at around 1am.
The victim was taken to the nearby Mater Hospital, but was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital.
A man in his late 20s has been arrested and is being questioned at Mountjoy Garda Station.
