Saturday 05 April 2014 15.37 Olympic medal winning boxer John Joe Nevin is in hospital with a broken leg after he was attacked in Mullingar this morning.
The incident happened shortly after 11am in the Ardleigh area.
Gardaí in Mullingar are investigating the incident. No arrests have been made.
Nevin won a silver medal at the 2012 Olympics in London.
He made a winning start to his professional career last month.
