Wednesday 12 March 2014 15.27 The High Court has granted an injunction to the Dublin Airport Authority and Ryanair restraining SIPTU from holding a four-hour strike on Friday.
The strike was expected to disrupt flights at Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports.
Yesterday, the DAA told the court that it would suffer catastrophic and irreparable damage, as well as millions of euro in losses, if the action went ahead.
But SIPTU defended its entitlement to take strike action.
The DAA and Ryanair sought the injunction to prevent the stoppage over a pensions dispute proceeding ahead of one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.
