A 23-year-old Tipperary man has admitted his part in the unlawful killing of James Tynan, 25, in Thurles almost a year ago.
At Nenagh Circuit Court, Jason Morrissey of Church Street, Toomevara, pleaded guilty to the unlawful killing of Mr Tynan, at Liberty Square in Thurles on 19 February 2012.
Mr Tynan, who was from Johnstown, Co Killkenny, died after he was seriously assaulted while out socialising with friends.
Morrissey also pleaded guilty to assault causing harm to three other men on 8 February.
Sentencing has been set for 12 April for the preparation of psychiatric reports and victim impact statements from the Tynan family and from the families of the three other men who were assaulted.
Morrissey has been remanded in custody until then.
