The funeral service for Constable Philippa Reynolds is taking place at Mossley Methodist Church in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim.

She died when a stolen 4x4 vehicle ran a red light and struck the unmarked police car in which she was a back-seat passenger early on Saturday.

The PSNI believes the 27-year-old was killed instantly in the crash.

The mourners were lead by the policewoman's parents Mervyn and Dorothy and her sisters Debra and Nicola.

Stormont First Minister Peter Robinson and Deputy First Mnister Martin McGuinness are also at the service.

Constable Reynolds will be buried at Carnmoney Cemetery.

PSNI Chief Constable Matt Baggot said she was a credit to her family friends and colleagues.

He said she had been a courageous and inspirational officer who had been part of the peace building in Derry.

The Chief Constable said it had been a huge privilege to have Constable Reynolds in the force.

Two men appeared in court in Derry on Monday charged over her death.
