Catherine Gowing, 37, was last seen alive by friends at around 8pm in the town of Mold, near New Brighton in Flintshire, where she had been living.
As part of the investigation, officers are trying to trace her car, a burgundy/purple Renault Clio with an Irish registration plate 00 D 99970.
Originally from Clonlee, Clareen near Birr in Co Offaly, she moved to Wales after qualifying as a vet.
Ms Gowing worked in Mold and lived in New Brighton for the past two years.
Anyone with information or who has seen the car is asked to contact North Wales police or Crimestoppers in the UK.
