Two people have died in separate car crashes in counties Dublin and Cork.
A 62-year-old man died in a crash on the M50 in Dublin overnight.
The crash happened at around 12.45am southbound between Junction 10 Ballymount and Junction 11 Tallaght.
The car left the road and crashed into a lamp-post and protective barrier and overturned before landing on its side.
A male passenger suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was taken to Tallaght Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
The driver of the car, a 60-year-old woman, was also taken to Tallaght Hospital with serious injuries. Her condition is described as being critical.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Terenure Garda Station on 01 6666400, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any garda station.
Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man died after a two-vehicle collision on the R586 at Coolfadda, Bandon in Co Cork at around 6pm yesterday.
The driver of one of the cars was seriously injured and was taken to Cork University Hospital but he died later.
The driver of the second car, a 37-year-old woman, was also taken to Cork University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
There were no passengers in either vehicle and no other injuries were reported.
The road is currently closed to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who was travelling on the R586 at Coolfadda between 5.40pm and 6pm to contact them at Bandon Garda Station on 023 8852200, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any garda station.
