Between 30,000 and 40,000 people turned out to protest against water charges in Dublin city centre today.
Three separate groups assembled at Connolly Station, Heuston Station and Merrion Square at 1pm and congregated at O' Connell Bridge.
This protest is the fourth organised by the Right2Water group and comes just days before Irish Water is due to issue the first bills to domestic users.
Right2Water, which is a coalition of political parties and trade unions, has said it is up to individuals to decide if they will pay.
The rally is expected to end around 3pm.
Speaking on RTÉ's Saturday with Claire Byrne this afternoon, TD Paul Murphy said the protest is not "aimed so much at the Government, but aimed at the people."
He encouraged people to have confidence in the anti-water charge movement, which he said was still strong.
