Nationwide snow and ice warning issued

Met Éireann has issued a nationwide snow and ice warning, while gardaí have asked road users to exercise care.

Met Éireann's status yellow warning cautions that a cold air mass from Canada will bring snow showers over the next few days.

The agency warns that in the west and north snow will accumulate over hills, with several centimetres of snow also likely at low levels.

It says slight accumulations are possible elsewhere, along with icy patches.
