A 61-year-old woman has died after a four-car collision in Co Carlow.
The crash happened at around 6.10pm yesterday at Knockloe on the Tullow to Shillelagh road (R725).
A passenger in one car was seriously injured in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her body was removed to Waterford Regional Hospital where a post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out later today.
A 71-year-old man and a 45-year-old man, who had been driving separate vehicles, were injured in the crash and taken to St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny for treatment.
The drivers of the other two cars, both in their 20s, were uninjured.
The road was closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination and has since re-opened.
