Visiting restrictions remain at three hospitals

Written By Unknown on Minggu, 08 Februari 2015 | 22.40

Visiting restrictions remain in place in three major hospitals because of flu outbreaks.

St James's Hospital in Dublin said planned admissions have been severely curtailed and its ICU remains closed to planned surgical cases.

The hospital said out-patient, day ward and diagnostic services will operate as usual tomorrow.

Mercy University Hospital in Cork said restrictions remain in place today and will be reviewed again tomorrow.

The hospital is restricting all visits, with the exception of the children's ward and critical care areas and will deal with exceptional cases on an individual basis

Cork University Hospital will review the restrictions this afternoon to see if they need to be continued.

All hospitals are continuing to appeal to anyone with flu-like symptoms to go to their GP rather than presenting at emergency departments.
