Three companies have promised 170 jobs for Shannon, Dublin and Kilkenny.

Amax is establishing its European manufacturing facility at Shannon, which it says will bring 100 jobs to the area over the next five years.

Based in Fremont, California, but also with an extensive network of facilities in China, Amax is a leading manufacturer of dynamic data centre and cloud custom-server appliance and computing solutions.

The base in Shannon will help it serve its European and global customer base with faster production and logistics turnaround.

The jobs will be in production, warehousing, finance and sales.

The company now operating the Phonewatch alarm service says it is creating 45 jobs in three offices in Dublin.

Sector Alarm Corporation hopes to recruit staff through an event at Wynn's Hotel in Dublin city centre on Saturday.

Potential recruits are invited to hand in their CV at the event.

Those who are successful will be sent for training before taking up the positions.

In Kilkenny, foreign exchange company TransferMate is seeking to recruit 25 people to its business development and sales staff and is accepting CVs from today with a view to conducting interviews in the coming weeks.
