The Revenue Commissioners is urging those who have yet to pay their Local Property Tax to make contact with the Revenue before Wednesday's deadline.
Vivienne Dempsey, Local Property Tax Manager with the Revenue Commissioners, told RTÉ's Today with Sean O'Rourke programme that the LPT office has been dealing with thousands of queries from people looking for information about payments.
The Revenue says a significant number of telephone calls have been made to the property tax helpline so far today.
By lunchtime 8,500 calls had been made to the helpline.
Over 7,000 people have paid the property tax by credit or debit card within the last 24 hours.
The compliance rate for 2014 stands at 95%.
Ms Dempsey said once people make an effort to engage with the Revenue before Wednesday they will be deemed to be compliant.
