Jury told case will be difficult for squeamish

A jury of seven men and five women has been sworn in to hear the trial of architect Graham Dwyer for the murder of Dublin woman Elaine O'Hara in 2012.

Mr Dwyer, 42, from Kerrymount Close in Foxrock in Dublin 18, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Ms O'Hara on 22 August 2012.

Her remains were discovered on Kilakee Mountain, in Rathfarnham in Co Dublin on 13 September 2013, more than a year after she was last seen.

The trial will start tomorrow and is expected to last six to eight weeks.

The potential jury members were told the case would be difficult for anyone who was particularly squeamish and that they should indicate that to the court if called.

They were told they should not serve if they had any connection to any of the parties or to a named website.

Mr Justice Paul Carney told the jurors it was important that they were able to hold a jury together for the length of time the case was going to take.
