Former secretary denies having tally analysis

Written By Unknown on Jumat, 05 Desember 2014 | 22.40

The former secretary of a Fine Gael TD has said she never saw or had possession of secret election tally analysis that he claimed she gave to his political rivals.

Cathy Shevlin also said a Facebook comment that Deputy Sean Conlan claimed undermined him politically was not aimed at him.

Ms Shevlin said the comment about "not turning up" was about her own inability at the time to attend party meetings in Monaghan.

The TD had claimed yesterday that Ms Shevlin and her husband had orchestrated a party branch meeting in February 2013 on a night when he was too busy to attend.

Ms Shevlin said she did not get two disciplinary oral warnings from Mr Conlan in 2012 because there was nothing to give them for.

She said there was no truth in claims that she was trying to politically damage Mr Conlan.

This was heard during the third day of the unfair dismissal case that Ms Shevlin is taking against Deputy Conlan at the Employment Appeals Tribunal.

Ms Shevlin worked for Mr Conlan from June 2011 until he dismissed her in March 2013 over what he said were breaches of her contract.

The former secretary claims she was bullied and harassed by the Monaghan TD and another person in his office.
