The case of property developer Sean Dunne is to return to the bankruptcy court in Connecticut at around 7pm Irish time.
It is the first hearing since Mr Dunne decided to go ahead with his efforts to be declared bankrupt in the United States despite previously trying to have his case dismissed.
The developer, who has debts of around €700m, originally filed for bankruptcy in the United States in March last year, before subsequently being declared bankrupt by the Irish High Court in July 2013.
NAMA and Ulster Bank are challenging his right to be freed from his debts in the Connecticut court.
His bankruptcy trial is scheduled to begin in January but NAMA has applied to have it delayed until May, saying Sean Dunne's attempt to dismiss the case, and subsequent withdrawal of that application, had delayed and frustrated their efforts to prepare for the hearing.
