Human remains found in Co Meath

An investigation is under way following the discovery of human remains in Kells Co Meath.

The remains of a man were found during excavation work at Oristown Bog near Kells on Thursday.

The remains were removed to Our Lady's Hospital Navan, where a post mortem examination was carried out yesterday.

Gardaí are awaiting the results of DNA analysis.

A burnt out shell of a motor car, reported stolen in the Kells area in 2003, was also recovered at the scene.
