Ryanair has said that since the launch of its business class that it has had 2,500 bookings per day in the first week of the service being launched.
Speaking on RTÉ's The Business, Ryanair's CEO Michael O'Leary said that business class has disappeared on short haul flights.
But he said people want to get through the airport quickly, get to their meetings and then get home.
Mr O'Leary said it was an inevitable development, with aircraft orders coming down, that it would cater to other sectors.
He said, we have taken the last 18 months and fixed things that annoy people.
"Changing policies that we overdid in the past." he said.
Mr O'Leary said the changes to Ryanair policy was driven by customers.
When queried if business class light was an accurate description of Ryanair's business class, Mr O'Leary said "gone are the days of our father or grandfather's age when people wanted to sit around business class lounges."
