Eight whales have died after being stranded on a beach in Falcarragh in Co Donegal.

They have been buried by volunteers.

A digger and a JCB on Ballyness and Domnatinidh beaches helped with the process.

Volunteers have been there since 7am. A total of 13 whales beached yesterday.

Four are alive, with one unaccounted for.

The whales are being left to die naturally and the public is asked not to come to the beach today.
