A cyclist died in a traffic collision in Limerick this morning and a man in his 40s was also killed after the motorcycle he was driving collided with an SUV in Co Monaghan.
A woman in her 30s was killed when her bike and an articulated truck collided at the junction of Rutland Street, Fr Matthew Bridge, and Charlotte's Quay at 7.30am.
Both the woman, believed to be a foreign national, and the truck were travelling in the same direction and were turning right at the junction when the accident happened.
The woman's body has been removed from the scene and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.
The road in the area, close to The Hunt Museum, is closed and diversions are in place.
Separately, a motorcyclist has died after a collision on the N2 at Broomfield, Castleblaney, in Monaghan at around 1.30pm.
The driver of the motorcycle, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda.
