Monday 21 July 2014 15.40 Three people were taken hostage by armed robbers in Co Cavan overnight.
Gardaí are investigating after three to four men, two believed to be armed, called to a house at Leehary, Crosserlough, Ballyjamesduff at around 1.45am this morning.
The men demanded the alarm codes and keys to a shop which is owned by the occupants of the house.
Three of the occupants were put into a vehicle and taken to a local quarry where they were left for some time.
By the time they managed to raise the alarm and contact gardaí, an undisclosed amount of cash had been taken from the shop.
