Wednesday 23 July 2014 15.43 SIPTU's pensions committee at the Dublin Airport Authority has decided to reject proposals aimed at resolving the €750m deficit in the Aviation Pension Scheme which the DAA shares with Aer Lingus.
The committee voted unanimously to reject the report of the expert panel appointed by the Government to come up with proposals to address the deficit.
SIPTU represents around 1,600 of the 1,700 DAA employees belonging to the troubled Irish Aviation Superannuation Scheme.
SIPTU Pensions Policy Advisor Dermot O'Loughlin said the committee had rejected the expert panel's report on a wide variety of grounds including the scale of cuts in pension benefits.
