Sunday 13 July 2014 15.54 Newly appointed Minister for Transport Pascal Donohue has said he is disappointed that the amended Labour Court recommendation on a dispute over a pay cut at Irish Rail has been rejected.
Speaking on RTÉ's This Week programme, he said he was conscious that there has been an increase in the number of people using transport.
However, he said the accumulated losses at Irish Rail posed a "great challenge".
Mr Donohue said he would try to ensure that Irish Rail is affordable now and in the future.
