Tuesday 17 June 2014 15.53 A teenager who was seriously injured when he was attacked in Dublin last Friday night has been released from hospital.
The 16-year-old was chased by two men into a house in the Kilcronan estate in Clondalkin and attacked in the kitchen with a machete.
He lost three fingers during the attack and also sustained leg arm and hand injuries.
He was taken to Tallaght Hospital before being transferred to St James's Hospital, where he underwent surgery over the weekend.
Gardaí believe the wounds are defensive.
Gardaí are waiting to interview the teenage victim.
The attack happened between 11pm and midnight on Friday night and gardaí say the attackers were wearing hoodies.
