At least 200 miners have been trapped after an explosion caused a fire in a coal mine in Turkey.

A regional governor said at least one miner was killed and up to 300 were trapped.

The incident happened in the western Turkish province of Manisa, the local mayor told CNN Turk television.

The mayor of Soma, a district in Manisa, told the broadcaster that 20 workers had been rescued.
