Saturday 17 May 2014 15.59 A man has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault which led to the death of a 20-year-old man in Co Kildare.
The alleged assault took place in Naas, Co Kildare last night at around 10.20pm.
A number of youths became involved in an altercation with another man at Harbour View.
The man received head injuries and was found unconscious at the scene by gardaí.
The man was taken to Naas General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
A post mortem examination is to be carried out today.
A 42-year-old man is being questioned in connection with the alleged assault and is being held at Naas Garda Station.
The Office of the State Pathologist has been informed and a post mortem examination is due to be carried out today.
