Saturday 17 May 2014 16.34 A cyclist has died after a collision with a car at 11.45am outside Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo.
The man in his late 40s was pronounced dead at the scene on Ballaghadreen Rd, Classaghroe, over 1km outside Ballyhaunis.
His body was taken to the morgue in Castlebar where a post-mortem examination will take place.
The driver of the car was taken to Mayo General with non-life threatening injuries.
The road is currently closed for forensic collision investigations. Gardaí are appealing for information to contact Swinford Garda Station on 094-9252990.
