Monday 14 April 2014 16.34 A former Bus Éireann contractor at the centre of corruption claims has said he lost his contract to operate a school route after he failed to make a contribution to a holiday fund for a Bus Éireann official.
The claim is contained in an affidavit published by Bus Éireann on its website.
The contractor said that after failing to put money towards a cash fund for the official's holiday, his contract was taken off him and given to another contractor without a tendering process.
The holiday was in Alicante.
The contractor also claimed that he was subject to intimidation and that he provided free taxi services for two officials.
This involved taking them to parties and other social functions.
The contractor said he felt obligated to do this or he would lose bus routes.
He claimed that he was not the only person who was made do this.
