Taoiseach Enda Kenny has said he would not be tempted to become President of the European Council should he be offered the position when Herman Van Rompuy retires in the Autumn.
Speaking on RTÉ's The Week in Politics, Mr Kenny said he would be flattered but that his mandate was in Ireland and he looked forward to two consecutive General Election victories.
"Back-to-back would be great. It is not easy to achieve and we will be judged by the people in just over 104 weeks time.
The Taoiseach said if the Government fulfils its mandate to get people back to work and give opportunities to young people, that "we will fight a good case and we have a good story to tell."
Asked about the appearance of Rehab Group executives at the Public Accounts Committee, the Taoiseach said that Fine Gael strategist, Frank Flanney, should appear before the committee.
Mr Kenny said all those involved with charities should provide answers about remuneration when public money is involved.
Mr Flannery is no longer an employee of the Rehab Group but he is a member of its board.
The long-serving Fine Gael strategist was not present when Rehab's Chief Executive faced questions about her earnings at the PAC last Thursday.
