Sunday 02 March 2014 14.56 A man has died after being hit by a train at Sallins Station, Co Kildare.
The 10am Heuston to Cork train struck the man in his 50s, fatally injuring him.
Emergency services attended the scene and train services were halted for a time.
The line has now reopened, however there will continue to be significant delays.
Counselling is being provided for the driver of the train.
