Thursday 20 March 2014 13.54 A man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged in connection with an assault on a 21-year old man in Cabra, Dublin last Tuesday.
Jason Saunders died in hospital after he was attacked near his home on Fassaugh Avenue just after 7am.
Paul Brannigan, 22, with an address at Fassaugh Avenue, faces two charges in connection with the attack.
He is accused of assaulting Mr Saunders causing him harm and of producing a golf club in the course of that assault.
Detective Sergeant Tom Lynch gave evidence of arrest, charge and caution.
He told the court the accused made no reply when he was charged.
Judge Patricia McNamara refused an application for bail and remanded Mr Brannigan in custody to appear in court again next week.
