Search for missing Limerick girl intensifies

Hundreds of volunteers are helping to search for a missing 15-year-old girl in Limerick.

Chloe Kinsella was last seen at her home in Kenyon Avenue in Kileely at around 8.15pm last Saturday.

Her family say her disappearance is completely out of character for her.

Her mother, Shirley, has appealed directly to Chloe to come home and not to be afraid.

She also appealed to anyone who may know where her daughter is to give information to gardaí that will lead to her safe return home.

Gardaí have divided local volunteers into groups of up to ten people.

Specific areas have been mapped out for them to search, stretching several kilometres around the area near the girl's home.

Posters of the missing teenager are also being widely distributed.

Limerick Marine Search and Rescue teams are searching a stretch of the River Shannon close to her home.

A number of dives were carried out last night and they will continue again this afternoon.
