The body discovered at Brown's Quay on the River Shannon in Limerick today has been formally identified as 15-year-old Chloe Kinsella.

The teenager had been missing from her home in Kileely since last Saturday.

Gardaí said there are no suspicious or violent circumstances surrounding her death.

Elsewhere, hundreds of friends and supporters of the Kinsella family gathered at St Munchin's Community Centre in Limerick this afternoon.

They prayed for the teenager and thanked search teams for their efforts over the past few days.

They also thanked her school friends, her neighbours, the wider community on the northside of Limerick, and gardaí and marine search teams from Limerick, Killaloe, Abbeyfeale, Bunratty and Mallow.

Her uncle Mattew Franklin said he firmly believed they would be bringing Chloe home safely.

He appealed to young people to look at and learn from what happened. He said they should relax, be happy and respect their lives.

People held hands as prayers were said and Fr Tony O'Riordan from Moyross said it was important people stick together and not let their sadness overwhelm them.
