A special meeting of the board of the HSE West/North West Hospital group will be held this evening.
It is considering the findings of last week's Health Information and Quality Authority report on issues relating to the death of Savita Halappanavar.
The 31-year-old died at Galway University Hospital last October.
She died one week after she was admitted to the hospital when she was 17 weeks' pregnant and miscarrying.
Board members will also consider the findings from the inquest into the death of Mrs Halappanavar and the Health Service Executive investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
The hospital group says it will consider the findings and recommendations from all three investigations and identify what further action needs to be taken.
It is understood that the composition of the board itself will also be discussed at the meeting, which is being held behind closed doors in Galway.
