Sinn Fein's president, Gerry Adams is set to welcome remarks made by Northern Ireland's first minister and the DUP leader, Peter Robinson at a function in Belfast to honour the GAA's role in peace-building.
The Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Eamon Gilmore, has also praised the Robinson speech and called it timely, significant and courageous.
Mr Robinson's speech came after several tense months in Northern Ireland.
In his address, he said he remains committed to power-sharing while also speaking of the importance of respect.
He also expressed a desire to make progress for all sections of society.
Sinn Féin leader Mr Adams has circulated details of remarks he will make at a weekend event in London in which he welcomes Mr Robinson's comments.
Mr Adams will also say that solutions are needed to solve a number of difficult issues in Northern Ireland.
He believes it is time to refresh the peace process and this can be done by leaders providing leadership.
These developments will be noted by Richard Haass, the US diplomat who is currently working up his proposals for tackling some of the unresolved political issues in Northern Ireland.
