Support for Fine Gael has increased slightly according to an opinion poll carried out by Red C for Paddy Power earlier this week.
Just over 1,000 people were asked their voting preference if there was a general election tomorrow.
The results show that, excluding the undecided voter, Fine Gael support has increased by one point compared to a similar poll in June.
This rise in popularity comes after the difficulty experienced by the party over the Protection of Life During Pregnancy Bill which saw it lose five TDs and two senators.
The biggest rise in support was for Independents and Others who moved up two points to 23%.
Support for Independents is particularly strong in Dublin and among voters aged 35-54 years.
The opposite is true for Fianna Fáil, which is weak in these areas but the party's overall support remained the same at 22%.
Labour was down one point to 11% while Sinn Féin's support fell by two points to 15%.
