Police in the UK say they are assessing new information about the deaths of Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed in a car crash in Paris in August 1997.
Reports suggest that officers are looking into an allegation that the British military might have been involved.
Police are also examining if the information has come from a British Army source.
Scotland Yard said it was not a re-investigation of the deaths.
However, detectives were assessing the "relevance and credibility" of the information.
An inquest jury found the couple had been unlawfully killed due to "gross negligence" on the part of their driver Henri Paul and paparazzi who chased them at high speed from the Ritz Hotel in Paris.
Mr Paul's drink-driving, the paparazzi pursuit and failure to wear seatbelts contributed to the deaths, the jury said.
