Man remanded over Rosslare heroin seizure

A 63-year-old man charged following a seizure of heroin worth an estimated €1.5m in Co Wexford has been remanded in custody.

Harm Kort, a Dutch national with an address in Belgium, appeared in Gorey District Court today.

He was arrested at Rosslare Europort on Friday after more than 10kg of heroin was found in a 4x4 vehicle during a search by Customs officers.

The defendant is charged with the importation and possession of heroin and will appear in Dublin District Court on 8 August.
