A live grenade has been made safe by an Army Bomb Disposal Team in Dublin.
The grenade, dating back to the 1920s/ War of Independence era, was found by a resident conducting excavation work in Grace Park, Drumcondra.
A number of houses were evacuated and traffic restrictions were put in place at about 1.30pm.
The device was rendered safe without the need for a controlled explosion.
The scene was declared safe at 2pm and the grenade was taken to a safe military location for disposal.
