A Co Wexford man, who was critically injured in a knife attack in Perth last week, has died.
Kenny Meyler, 21, died shortly after midnight local time (4pm Saturday Irish time).
A 32-year-old man has been charged over the incident, which happened in the coastal suburb of Scarborough last Sunday.
Vincent Martin Crowe was charged with causing grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in court again on 25 February
Arrangements are being made in Australia to bring the body of his body back to Ireland.
His mother Melanie and other relatives travelled to Perth last Tuesday.
The Department of Foreign Affairs is providing assistance to them.
They have appealed for privacy at this difficult time.
A former pupil of CBS Secondary School in Wexford, Mr Meyler had travelled to Austrailia two years ago.
He trained with the Wexford CBS Boxing Club before leaving Ireland.
