Dublin TD Clare Daly has said she has been cleared of suspected drink-driving.
She has been informed that a sample provided by her last week was "well below" the legal limit.
Ms Daly said she is now pursuing a complaint through the Garda Ombudsman Commission about the leaking of her arrest to the media.
She accused some sections of the gardaí of deliberately leaking the information in an attempt to undermine her campaign criticising gardaí for quashing penalty points.
Ms Daly was stopped in the early hours of Tuesday of last week after making an illegal turn.
She was then arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and taken to Kilmainham Garda Station.
In an interview with RTÉ News, Ms Daly said she had been handcuffed and held in a cell after her arrest, which she was told was "standard procedure".
Her legal team had told her that it was not.
The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission has confirmed it has received a complaint relating to the arrest of Deputy Daly last week.
A spokesperson said they could make no further comment.
The Garda Press Office said it was now a matter for the Ombudsman Commission.
