The car of Willie Frazer, one of the organisers of protests linked to the union flag row, was destroyed by a fire in Co Armagh overnight.
Police are investigating an arson attack outside the home of loyalist campaigner Willie Frazer.
A car was set alight outside his home in Markethill, Co Armagh in the early hours of the morning.
PSNI officers on routine patrol saw the vehicle on fire at around 1am.
The 52-year-old member of the Ulster People's Forum was sleeping at the time and police alerted him and brought him to safety.
The car was completely burnt out but no one was injured in the incident.
Mr Frazer had planned to hold a demonstration in Dublin last month as part of the protests over the union flag controversy.
The protest, due to take place at Leinster House on 12 January, was put on hold.
