Written By Unknown on Rabu, 02 Januari 2013 | 22.40

The remains of Offaly vet Catherine Gowing are being returned to Ireland today for her funeral.

The 37-year-old, who was originally from Clonlee, near Birr, was murdered in Wales last October.

Ms Gowing was last seen alive on 12 October at a supermarket near her home in New Brighton, Flintshire, north Wales.

Some of her remains were later found at two sites in Wales - in a shallow pond in Sealand and on the banks of the River Dee near Chester.

Police have said that the search for remains is continuing.

A spokesperson told RTÉ News that the search is not a daily active event, but takes place based on information provided by the general public from week-to-week.

Clive Sharpe, 46, from Gwynedd, north Wales, has been charged with her murder.

Ms Gowing's remains will be brought for a removal at St Flannan's Church in Kinnitty at 9pm this evening. Her funeral mass will take place at midday tomorrow.
