Over 300 jobs announced across country

Over 300 jobs have been announced for various locations across the country.

Up to 150 construction jobs are being created at a large wind energy project at Mount Lucas, Co Offaly.

Minister for Communications, Energy & Natural Resources Pat Rabbitte said the commencement of works on Bord na Móna's €140m investment would see the construction of 30 high-spec turbines.

They will provide eco-friendly electricity for up to 50,000 Irish households.

Elsewhere, 100 jobs are to be created at an information technology security company in Dublin.

Mandiant, which provides products to deal with cyber security attacks, is establishing an engineering and security operations centre in the city.

The posts will be in software engineering, security operations, product development and administrative positions.

There are also 40 new jobs in Sky's retail store network, 19 at sofa retailer DFS in Cork and ten iat Swift Fine Foods in Monaghan.
