First meeting of Constitutional Convention begins

The first meeting of the Constitutional Convention got under way at Dublin Castle this afternoon.

The group was established by the Government to look at proposed changes to the Constitution.

The 100 members of the Convention are made up of Chairman Tom Arnold, 29 members of the Oireachtas, four representatives from the Northern Ireland Assembly, and 66 randomly selected ordinary citizens.

The event is being streamed on the Convention's website.
